Three of us set out on a trip departing Nov 6 and returning Nov 20th. The trip covered a wide area of habitats and species and so is broken down into five sections.
From Julatten we moved to the last destination on our itinerary near the town of Yungaburra, staying at Chambers Wildlife Rainforest Lodges at Lake Eacham for three nights.
Coming from Daintree our next destination was Julatten. Julatten is a vibrant community of 998, more than ten times the size of Daintree !
Having left Cairns around 10 am we drove along the coastal road with some really nice views making our way North, planning on about 2 hours driving time to Daintree.
At the start of our trip we had three nights in Cairns.
On a recent trip to Cairns we took a day trip on 7 Nov 2013 to Michaelmas Cay in the Great Barrier Reef

Some of the species that can occur can be quite tricky to identify, this post will talk about the Malaysian and Hodgson’s Hawk-Cuckoos.
Sunday Sept 15 started out like any other Sunday, except for 8 of us who went out for a pelagic in the straits.
The rainforest traps so much water vapor that there is often a morning mist the sun struggles to burn off. A recent morning in Panti Forest.
